Most brides-to-be shopping eBay are on a tight budget. We have put together some suggestions of how you can make your budget go farther, without compromising on the quality of the products you select.
You're shopping on eBay. Which means you are halfway to saving as much money as you can already. Let's see if we can save you some more.
First things first....select a wedding gown. The attendant's dresses should compliment the wedding dress you buy, not the other way around. Once you have your dress, and decide on your colors and theme, start to accessorize your wedding.
Selecting attendant's dresses that suit your colors, style and theme is the next step.
If you have a match on the dresses, your wedding flowers should accentuate the beauty of your dress, without getting lost in the color or colors you select for your attendant's dresses.
Let's look at an example....your style is a simple straight-line cut gown and you have selected navy dresses for your maid of honor and bridesmaid's dresses. You have also decided on a spring theme...include lavenders, pinks and yellows in the flowers. Don't be afraid to add color to your bouquets.
You can add color without changing colors....mix shades of the same color, some light and some dark shades in contrast to the colors you have selected for your dresses. As with the example above...mix shades of blue....powder blue, royal blue, perhaps a little silver with the navy. This technique will prevent your flowers from getting lost against the dresses, and you and your bouquet will be the focal point of everyone's attention.
Matching colors, without having them appear pieced together is a very difficult task. The key is to make it look as though the differences are intentional. We recommend contrasting colors, again unless you are going for a very basic two toned wedding decor, the colors will make you and your dress and your flowers special....as they should be.
Pew Bows should accessorize your flowers, not your dresses. Unless you are going for a two toned decor, such as black and white or cream, use the least predominant color in your bridal bouquet for your pew bows, even if that color is white or ivory. You should not be discouraged that there is not much in your budget for decorating the church. In comparison to Floral Arrangements, Pew Bows are a lovely and inexpensive way to decorate. Accent the family pews with a more elaborate bow and use something less expensive on the remaining pews. This will make your family feel as special as they are, and no one need know you did it to save money.
Select products that suit your style. The least expensive product is not always as important as what the purchase will add to your wedding. If your budget is tight, and you want to stretch it as far as possible...don't buy wrist corsages for your attendants just because they are inexpensive. You will likely spend money on floral arrangements for your headtable. Combine the two into one expense. Buy small bouquets for your attendants that can be used to decorate the headtable after the ceremony. As an added bonus, keepsake bouquets made from artifical flowers make a great thank you gift for your bridesmaid's, your favorite aunt or for someone who has helped you make your dream wedding better.
