Speedball A Mix up Mash-em Up of Great Games

This isn’t an explanation of the paintball game with the same name.  This is a mixture of soccer, football, and rugby.

Speedball can be played on a regulation soccer field or on any field with two nets.  Speedball is simple it’s two teams of equal number of players trying to score on each other.  It’s fast and furious and the action never ends.  Players start by kicking the ball like soccer, the ball can be carried but only if it’s kicked into your hands by a teammate or by an opposing player.  You can either play tackle or touch depending on the people you are playing with.  Putting the ball in the net scores goals, but there’s more than one way to score and each way adds more points to your total. 

Ways to score:

Throw the ball in the goal: 1 point
Kick the Ball in the goal: 2 points
Head the ball in the goal from a throw: 3 points
Head the ball in the goal from a kick: 4 points

You can add more ways to score such as punching the ball in the net, scoring from half court, bicycle kicks, etc…  The reason the game is so fast and furious is because of the point scheme.  No matter how bad you’re losing, one good play can swing momentum in your favour.
