When buying a piece of advertising to be used for decorative purpose or investment, anything which has been painted on to display the advertisement it being made of tin, paper, plastic, reverse painted glass, enamel glass, even wood, it is wise to keep the piece out of direct or bright indirect sunlight and also out of fluorescent light this will cause fading over a short period of time. Tins & paper especially.

If you are displaying a paper advertisement and would like it to be framed under glass, you can purchase special treated plexiglas instead of plain glass which is not as heavy and blocks ultraviolet / UV light.

When having a piece made of paper restored it is a great addition to it's longevity to add a piece of acid free backing to help prevent the deterioration of the original piece being displayed.

When working with reverse painted glass.

Do not take from a cold temperature immediately into a warm temperature,  visa versa,  the change will create condensation detrimental to the paint and cause a bubbling / lifting effect resulting in peeling over time. If it is a reverse painted label it can detach from it's surface.

Cold is not good!  Too hot is not good!

If you have reverse painted glass of any thing, bottles, signs, labels, keep them in a building that maintains a constant comfortable moderate temperature.

If you must move a piece from warm to cold for a short period of time, say into a warm car, cover with a blanket and move the piece promptly.

If the piece has been in the cold move it into a warmer temperature in stages.  Cold shed to a not so cold porch, to a warmer hall way, into the house.  Gradually bring the temperature up.

We actually don't move reverse painted glass during cold temperatures at any time unless it is absolutely necessary.

There are multiple ways to clean a stained bottle depending on the type of stain.  Interior soaking with vinegar & buck shot works great on lime stain. You fill the bottle & soak for a few days, the buck shot (soft lead pellets or something similar) are then inserted, when you gently shake the bottle back & forth the shot helps to remove the stain. The longer the soak the better the removal of the stain. This is not as harsh as using WINK or CLR which can etch a bottle if the chemical is left inside for too long a time causing permanent white haze staining or otherwise known as permanent etching.

If that occurs a professional cleaning using an interior tumbling method to smooth out some of this etching will be needed, not always successful, depends on the severity of the etching.
