Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Sony XL-2100 Lamp.

NOTE: We recommend you to use latex gloves when handling the new bulb, to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

Lamp casing
1.- Let’s start by removeing two screws adjacent to the power connector.

2.- Now turn the lamp on its side to remove two more screws close to the metal plate.

3.-On the upper right corner insert carefully the tip of your flat screwdriver and push the plate out.

4.- Now pull it back with your hand until it’s completely take it out of the casing.

5.- This is what the metal plate looks like once it’s out.

6.- Pull out the connector from its place and push it in to the plastic casing.

7.-From the side, take out the lamp out along with the connector.

8.-Remove both cables from the bulb with your screw driver and a pair of pliers.

9.- Ready your new bulb, and prepare to install it the same way you took out the old one.

10.- Reinstall the cables on the new bulb with its respective screw and nut.

11.-Place the lamp back inside the housing from the side with the connector in front.

12.-After placing the connector in its place, secure it with the two screws at ache side.

13.-Now to place the metal plate back you must make sure the securing clips align correctly.

14.- Make sure they fit correctly, especially the on the bottom left corner that is very close to the bulb.

15.-Now push the plate in, make sure the holes in the plate match the ones in the plastic casing.

16.- Insert the screws to secure it in place until it doesn’t move.
Congratulations!

you’re finished.

IMPORTANT: After installing the replacement bulb, you should wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this could reduce considerably the life span of the new lamp.
