Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Sony XL-2000 Lamp.

NOTE: The bulb should be handled with a clean lint-free cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

Sony XL-2000 lamp casing
1.-First let’s remove the four screws that are located on all corners on the front of the lamp.

2.-Gently pull the front from the back until the casing splits in two.

3.-The back end is the casing of the lamp shown here, and the other one with the bulb is the lamp base.

4.-Take the lamp base and start to remove the cables attached to the bulb with your screwdriver and pliers.

5.-To completely remove the bulb you must also release the metal wire holding it in place.

6.-And now, you’ll have no problem taking out your old lamp.

7.-Now take out  your new Philips Bulb so you can replace the old one.

8.-It will be placed the same way you took out the old one.

9.-Secure it with the wire, and attached both plastic covered cables inserting the screw and nut.

10.-Once secured, it will look something like this.

11.-Now take both front and back of the casing to form one piece again.

12.-Finally place all four screws on the front to secure the entire casing in its place, make sure it doesn’t move.

13.-And you’re all set!

IMPORTANT: After installing the replacement bulb, you should wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this could reduce considerably the life span of the new lamp.
