So, my store is FILLED with it, people are SELLING it and people are BUYING it... what is it with this brand GYMBOREE?  What's the big fuss all about?  It may seem that the brand Gymboree is WAY out of your price range, but you aren't taking in all of what the Gymboree brand is about!  I'm here to try and help uncover some of those hidden mysteries.

When I first started buying on ebay for my daughter I bought cute little outfits for a few dollars and kept seeing this brand "Gymboree" pop up all over the place.  WOW!  Those auctions were ending for outrageous prices!  I refused to buy it, even if it was cute!  So I dug a little deeper and started researching the used value of Gymboree clothes, they were selling for as much as brand new pieces!  I could believe it.  I tested the waters, bought a few outfits of Gymboree for my daughter and after she wore them I sold them on ebay.  I couldn't believe that I sold the sets for almost as much as I paid for them.  Now, over 2 years later I get what the fuss is about!

1)  Gymboree comes out with "lines" about every 3-4 weeks (maybe even less a time frame than that) and the lines are named and feature a certain style and pattern.  Some of their past lines have included *Rainbow Sherbert (pinks, whites, ice cream cones, cherries and flowers) *Fruit Punch (yellow, orange, pinks and fruit print) *Lemony Fresh (yellows, greens and pinks with lemons and limes) *Mod Zebra (green, black and creams with zebras and go go girls) *Hide and Seek (green and blue with mice and mushrooms) *Wildflower Fields (yellow, orange, green and white with wildflower print and flower princess) *Prep Club (green, blue, yellow with turtles and flowers) ~ Oh and the list goes ON AND ON!

Different people fall in love with different lines because of the style of the clothes, the patterns or the colors!  My personal all time favorites are: Poppies, Cherries, Ladybugs, Giraffe Club, Wildflower Fields, Dandelion Wishes and Teachers Pet.  I buy a little bit of everything for my spoiled Bri though!  I guess this is one of the great things about Gymboree, no one "line" is the same as the next.  One month you may hate everything for sale at Gymboree and the next month you could love everthing!

The next big selling point of Gymboree items is the details put on the clothing.  Beads, embroidery, sequins ~ all adorably placed on the clothing to maximize it's cuteness and not overpower the items.   The embroidery is exquisite and always precisely done!  Embroidery is one of my favorite features on Gymboree items!  It just gives it the extra pop that makes Gymboree's brand stand out.

Now I want to talk about quality.  I won't deny that there are a few pieces Gymboree has come out with that have had issues with quality, but overall Gymboree's clothes are HIGH QUALITY and last when worn over and over again if cared for properly.  Gymboree outfits are recycled on ebay year after year and it usually takes several years for the wear to settle into the items, especially if the items are not hand washed and hung to dry.  The main point is, these clothes last!

My last and final point is one that I have mentioned before, the possibility for resale of Gymboree clothes after your child has worn them.  I have seen lots containing used clothing that have sold for $200 and up!  Or sell the items in sets and make money that way.  There have been so many times that I have purchased outfits off ebay, had my daughter wear them and then sell them for MORE than what I paid!  For example, I purchased a lot of 18-24 months size clothes from the line "Western Prairie" that included 6 pieces (overalls, 2 dresses, a romper, a shirt and a pair of pants) for a buy it now of $16.99 plus $4.00 shipping.  So I paid a total of $20.99 for the set.  The next spring I sold the ROMPER alone for $18!  I almost made back what I paid for the whole set on one romper.  Not to say this happens a lot, but it is possible!

So, yes, Gymboree may seem a bit expensive, but it is worth it!  From it's cuteness, quality and collectibility it is one of the most POPULAR selling brands on ebay!  It is on the ebay pulse for number one searched term under infants and toddlers and girls items!  There is a reason for this!
