Smoking & Selling & Shipping .. oh my!
I quit smoking May 15, 2005. Smoked since age 16. LONG TIME as I am old now! lol
While I was smoking I never had any smoking around my eBay items.
I did allow smoking in my garage. However that is where I kept my shipping boxes and Guess what? That is a bad idea! The shipping supplies do absorb the smoke. I honestly never realized this till I quit smoking and started buying items on eBay I have literally gagged after receiving some of my items. Smoking sellers do not realize how important this is. Now Please, don't get me wrong, as I said I was a smoker and LOVED IT. I have nothing against others smoking. Just trying to shed some light on the fact smokers need to pay attention to the items they are selling as well as the shipping supplies.
SMOKING and SELLING on EBAY
Stay far away from the items you are selling.
Keep smoking areas far, far away from those shipping boxes.
Do not use newspaper for shipping if you smoked while reading it.
FABRIC , all fabric items, ANYTHING fabric:dolls, toys, clothing, bedding.
PROTECT all items that can easily absorb a scent. Good rule of thumb is once you list it, put it is PLASTIC while you wait to ship.
BEWARE of plastic bags that have been sitting in a smoke area. If you go to all this trouble to protect your item and then you place it in a bag that has been exposed to the smoking area, the item you put inside will now smell like the bag. Even a bag from the grocery store that had onions in it. Your eBay item will smell like that too!
- Books: Especially old, cloth cover books absorb most smells easily.
- Buy some FABREEZE! Great stuff to spray around often!
One day I know you will quit,
but for now be a
COURTEOUS, SMOKING EBAY SELLER!
