Sleep Disorders and Staying up Late at Night on eBay!

Up all night on eBay? Having problems Sleeping? Your not Alone.

The human population is suppose to be awake during daylight hours and sleeping during the night. But there are many of us that have our internal clocks switched due to work schedules or other reasons. When our body's circadian rhythm is disrupted we lose out on quality sleep and that results in fatigue and lack of alertness. This needs to be checked and monitored for health and safety reasons.

Those working shift work and rotating shifts and those of you that just stay up all night on eBay can have decreased motor skills, hand and eye coordination, and alertness, reduced reaction time as well as many other problems. Many people with this reversed lifestyle think they can fight the fatigue with short term fixes but should be on the look out for severe problems that could effect their overall health. If you experience frequent headaches, problems getting and/or staying asleep, restlessness, problems with remembering and  concentrating you should be checked for sleep disorders.

If you want to improve your health and still keep your late night hours there are a few things you can do to improve your environment and at the same time stay healthy too!

Tips for staying healthy all night long! 

  • First get a full medical check-up so that you can either rule out or get treatment for any sleep disorders you may have.
  • LIGHTS! Yes, just having a natural light on in the room you are in while working or while on your computer will make a big difference in helping your body get use to the night-day cycle. Lights increases your brain activity too!
  • DARK! Then the reverse is to make sure when you do go to bed that the room you sleep in is very dark and cool even during the brightest daylight. Make your room dark by getting special sun-blocking drapes and shades.
  • Stay healthy! Avoid foods that will cause restless sleep like spicy foods, caffeine and alcohol. Exercise when you wake up and not right before sleeping.
  • Try taking power naps. Sometimes just closing your eyes and sitting back in a chair will give you the needed rest that will help you get through the day/night. 

So go ahead East Coasters and stay up till 3am to snipe that West Coast auction that ends at midnight, blog away all night, list items in your eBay store or go on an eBay all night shopping spree just be sure you are getting the correct sleep you need to keep you healthy.
