WHAT SIZES should our paintings be, with due respect to our Compositions, Content, Topic, and is Buyer Friendly?

12x16, is an excellent size. Easy for buyer to frame. Versatile use, good for gifts, good for hanging anywhere. This size is good for still lifes, and small landscapes with lots of detail. Inexpensive, anyone can purchase it.

16x20, a nice size, fits anywhere, framing friendly (easy for buyer to frame), fairly inexpensive.

20x24, nice size, easy to place on main walls, easy to frame by buyer, fairly inexpensive.

24x36, great size for large walls that need some help. OK for buyer to frame, but getting up there in price. Still, these sizes for frames can be found, even in wholesale framing houses, cheaply enough.

30x30, difficult for buyer to frame, makes the painting more expensive than initial purchase price, to have to have our paintings framed by a professional which should NOT be necessary. Besides, it's FUN to shop for our lovely painting's frame! A nice finishing touch to a good purchase.

36x40, difficult for buyer to frame, but not impossible.

larger: impossible to frame/ buyer beware!
