I have been selling clothing for quite sometime now and almost always size is the #1 concern. You might wonder why you're a size 5 in Old Navy Jeans and a size 9 in Levi's. I know, it's quite confusing -- I don't even know my exact size as different stores and brand names vary in their sizing chart. Your best bet in buying the perfect fit? --- Your measurement.
How to measure your perfect fit Jeans?
Waist measurement: Find your favorite jeans and lay them flat on the table. Get a tape measure, measure the waist line from one end to another and double that number. For example: Tape measure is at 15 (double that) and you get your waist line as 30 inches.
Tip: You may need to ask your seller (For Online Shoppers) if the jeans you are going to purchase is stretchable or not. If it's not, then I suggest to add about an inch from your exact waist measurement. It helps get that snug fit but not too tight. If It's stretchable, just get the exact measurement you have. It will look fabulous!
Inseam: Again, take a measuring tape and measure from crotch to the bottom jean hem, if it falls on 29 - then 29 inches is your inseam.
Flare Opening: Most Jeans nowadays have legs that are slightly flared or some styles have wide opening (which are called bell bottoms). So, get the opening measurement of the style that you most prefer.
Tip: When measuring jeans, do not stretch it out to the max, it helps when you lay them really flat and just run the tape from end to end.
If you're shopping for a Girl (Pre-teen) or younger they usually go from size 7/8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. For Juniors sizes are 1,3,5,7,9,11,13, and 15. For Women's (Misses) sizes are 1,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16, and 18.
How to Measure:
Chest/Bust Size
Measure around the fullest part of your chest/ bust. Best to use a fabric tape measure, keep it under the arms and around the shoulder blades. Read the measurement with the tape - make sure it's not too tight.
Seat/Hip Measurement
Stand on your heels together and measure around the fullest part of your hip or seat, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Waist Measurement
Measure around your natural waist line, keeping the tape comfortably loose. Put your finger between the tape and your body to make sure it's not too tight.

There's a lot to consider when you shop online for clothing. I normally shop in huge lots so I have many choices to make - and If I don't find my perfect fit, I resell it here on ebay. If you're the kind of person who don't want to waste time and money shopping for lots of clothing and just want to pick the best one for you, then I suggest you go to the mall or shopping centers where there's large selection of jeans. It's always good to find the right fit especially for jeans. And remember, if you're not totally happy with your purchase, return service is almost always available in stores.
Thanks for reading and Hope this information helps.
