You don’t have to be a detailing expert to clean the inside of your car. These are some quick and easy tips for keeping your dashboard clean, using a product you might already have in your home.
In case you haven’t noticed, dashboards have a tendency to get dirty, especially in the summer when you’re driving with the windows open. Dust, dirt and pollen all have a knack for settling on your dash, and household cleaners just don’t cut it. Using Windex just spreads the dust around and can splatter the inside of your windshield (which is hard enough to clean as it is).
I recommend picking up a box of Swiffer Dusting Pads to keep in your trunk. Since a Swiffer uses static electricity to pick up dust and dirt, you can be sure it will wipe your dashboard clean in a flash. Plus, you don’t have to worry about liquid cleaners or paper towels, and you can clean your dash in a flash.
If you have the time and would like to take an extra step between dustings, I recommend buying a bottle of Armor All Original Protectant. This stuff really is the best on the market, especially if your car stays outside (like mine, unfortunately). UV rays can dull the plastic on your dash over time, but Armor All is great at bringing out its original shine. Use the spray cleaner every few weeks between dusting and the inside of your car will look like new.
