Simple Eye Pin Bails for Pendants and Top Drilled Beads
(DIAGRAMS FOR TRIANGLE AND LYRE SHAPED BAILS)I created this guide to give beaders an elegant and inexpensive solution for creating dangles with top drilled briolette and teardrop beads. Variations of the simple bail techniques maybe adapted to create bails for pendants and stations for earrings.
Simple Triangle Bail
Start with an eye pin or make an eye pin out of half hard wire that is thin enough to thread through the opening of your bead but sturdy enough to hold it's shape and weight of the bead.
Thread the bead through the eye pin. Use a rounded needlenose plier to make the bends step-by-step as seen in the diagrams.
Lightly pinch the eyes closer together. Congratulations, you made a simple triangle bail!
Now you can use a jump ring to thread through the eyes to attach to your pendant or other links.

Lyre Bails
With the Lyre Shaped Bails, you will need a jump ring for each eye and a third jump ring to connect the 2 other jump rings. Connect jump rings and links till the dangle faces in the direction you need it to face. You can build pretty lattice work this way and have dangles at different lengths.
Outward Lyre Bail
Inward Lyre Bail
You may need to practice with inexpensive brass wire to get the length, bends and eyes to line up to your liking.
I hope you find these ideas useful. Good luck!
