Are you getting a deal on silver coins on E-Bay? I see a lot of people who apparently aren't. A lot of bullion items are bid way up for some reason. I for one have bought a lot of bullion items here, and in every case except one, (I didn't read the description correctly before I bid), paid LESS than the melt value, even after shippping was added in. Some of the coins I bought were even real nice BU, AU, and in one case, a seller threw in a better coin than I paid for, because he came up one short on the lot I bought. Here are some guidelines I came up with for getting deals;

1. Pay attention to the ad. Know what you are buying, a lot of sellers will try to trick you.

2. Know what you are buying in terms of what it's really worth. There are so many websites that will tell you what things are worth. I use them constantly. One of the best for silver coins I've found is coinflation.com, & conflation canada.com. These guys take the daily spot silver price, and turn it into prices for coins based only on their metal content. I use this as a guide, nevermind any additional collector's value.

3. Check your local dealers. Sometimes they will have the same thing not only at a lower price, but there is no shipping & handling. I use Rare Coins of New Hampshire. They only charge 2% over their cost for bullion. Check out their website, although it doesn't mention bullion sales.  (They ship, too.) The United  States Mint sells most of their coins directly to the public. Why buy it at a markup when you can get it from them? (They only charge $4.95 S&H.) Also see my guide on this subject, "Paying too much for US Mint Products?" Some people buy regular, common bank rolls at a markup + S&H. Go to your bank and get them for Face Value + NOTHING. (I found some 40 & 90% this way.)

4. Don't forget to add in S&H. Sometimes it's wicked high. Take a good deal on something & add $20 S&H, and it's not too good anymore.

5. Useful websites;

conflation.com ---- metal content value of US coins, also very interesting articles

coinflation.com/canada/ ---- metal content value of canadian coins

rcnh.com ---- +2% bullion sales

kitco.com ---- spot prices & interesting articles

us mint.gov ---- collector coin sales with low S&H, some things sell out VERY fast, don't hesitate

pcgs.com ----there is a bullion coins prices page, and a list of what collectors coins are worth

coinscan.com -----deals with technical aspects of canadian coins

cmi-gold-silver.com ---- interesting explanations on precious metals investing, & products available

numisvision.com ---- they display the kitco spot prices in a way I like to look at, it's my home page

Hope this all helped & feel free to write with any questions
