This guide is being written to help all those who are currently buying silver bullion for investment or collecting. Below is just a few tips that we have found to be very helpful when buying these type items and hope they help you as well.

1. Find a seller or dealer that has been doing this type of business for a while, an easy way to do this is search by there feedback as this will tell you what they are and how they operate and service thier customers. Also look at not only their feedback from who buys from them but also who they buy from as this will tell you a lot in itself.

2. With the market on the rise right now, now is the best time to get your bullion before the price soars so high it becomes hard to get. A great guide for this is either the greysheet which is the coin dealers newsletter or using the internet at a site titled Kitco which will give you the latest updates daily of the silver prices. By using this site it will keep you informed of what the current spot price is for silver and gold on a daily basis.

3. One thing you dont want to do is over pay for what you are buying. However please note that some pieces carry a higher premium then others. There are some pieces out there that are harder to get then others due to there limited numbers that were made therefore you will have to pay a higher price to obtain these pieces. One good example is the 1/4 pound .999 Washington Mint replica silver bars whcih were made to look like U.S. currency, only each piece is made from .999 pure silver and usually these are made and limited to either 25,000 or 50,000 pieces made worldwide for that specific year. These pieces carry a higher premium due to the limited number that is made.

4. Always buy your bullion from a seller that sells bullion from a company that makes quality silver. Silvertowne, Sunshine Mint, Engalhard and there are many others, these companys have been producing silver rounds and bars for many years and produce some of the finest collectible bullion in the world. Also when buying bullion never buy from an auction that does not show pictures of what you are buying. Remember that you get what you pay for and you wouldnt buy a car without seeing it first so why buy anything for investment purposes or collecting purposes without seeing it.

5. Make sure that the seller you are dealing with offers great customer service by answering emails, shipping fast, not over charging for shipping etc, a good way to find this out is by emailing the seller and asking questions and or looking at his feedback also. We have been selling coins and presious metals for over 10 years and 4 of those years have been on ebay and we make it a point to answer all questions from buyers within 4 hours or less of them asking, and if we are online on ebay we answer their questions within minutes of receiving it from ebay. A good seller will always answer back asap to any question posted to him or her. Always make sure you feel good about who you are dealing with. Dont be afraid to ask questions regarding any item or ask a seller to provide additional details or photos of what you are interested in, if they are a good seller/dealer they will do this for you with no questions asked.

6. Always ask a seller what their return policy is if it is not posted on the auction pages. Any dealer or seller that is good will always stand behind their product or what they are selling. Remember never bid on an item unless you are sure you are going to buy this as it costs money for sellers when they list an item and when it sells and therefore when someone does not pay it costs that seller money out of their pocket, so be fair with your seller and they will be fair with you.

7. Our final tip is regarding shipping and insurance. Make sure that you always check out their shipping charges. If you feel a seller is charging to much or over charging for shipping dont hesitate to contact ebay about them as there are rules regarding the overcharging of shipping. As for insurance charges make sure that you are paying the correct amount for insurance and an easy way to do this is to check out the USPS website and there you will be able to find out the exact amount of what the actual insurance should be for the amount of the item that is being shipped. There are some sellers that pad there shipping costs, and what we mean by this is they will for example: sell an item and charge a low shipping fee but will then in turn add a double or triple amount to the insurance to make up for the shipping. For example if you purchase a silver dollar and the shipping fees are $2 that is a fair amount for regular shipping ie: 1st class, etc, or $4.85 for priority shipping is a fair amount, but if the seller is charging $4 to $5 for 1st class shipping then think about it as there is a problem with that. Our business offers free shipping to all of our customers which includes delivery conformation, the only additional charge we use is the normal usps insurance rates, which is always a good idea to pay for as it not only protects you against loss or damaged items but it also protects the seller as well if an item has to be replaced.

8. Always remember you are the customer and it is the sellers duty to serve you and make sure you are happy with your product thus it is also your responsibility to treat your seller with respect as well. If both parties keep the lines of communication open I can guarantee you will have a successful purchase and will probably become a regular customer of that seller.Good luck with your ebay experience and we hope this guide has been helpful to you, if it has please rate this guide for us as we use these ratings to help us know how many people it has helped. Thank you!
