If you're like me, you can figure out your own "best match." I like to search by items ending soonest when I'm going to bid. When I'm looking to buy-it-now I like to search by lowest prices first.
eBay recently reset my default search to Best Match. If this has happened to you, here's how to fix it.
First, go to any search page on eBay. For instance, Search my items for sale . Above the list of items found in the search you will see a "sort by" box which might say Best Match. To the right of that are the words "Customize Display" in blue letters. "Customize Display" is a link, go ahead and click it.
Next, scroll down to where it says "Advanced Settings." Where it says "Search Sort By" go ahead and choose "Time Ending Soonest" or whatever search preference you like most. Then click the "Apply Changes" button below.
Congratulations, you've taken back control of your eBay search experience!
