                                          Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)

The writer of a reveiw entitled Shortwave Antenna Not Work For Scanners is not only slandering his fellow e-bay sellers, he is lying to prospective buyers in order to sell his own defective design scanner antennas!

1. If you look closely at the photos of the scanner antenna he sells, you will see that the center is a tiny 5 cent piece of PVC with black tape wrapped around it.

2. Look again! The photo shows the antenna mounted on a wall with thumb tacks in a horizontal configuration when all VHF and UHF scanner frequencies are broadcast in the vertical plane!

3.Outright Lies- The writer claims that shortwave antennas do not work with scanners.

Why do 25% of the listeners in the world use a LONG WIRE ANTENNA?

4.This self proclaimed radio expert also claims that Slinky Antennas will not work with scanners. That's another blatant lie! Helical antennas made with Slinkies are resonant on so many frequencies it's almost impossible to make a list of all of them!

The 2-80 meter 2 Slinky Dipole I have mounted at only 30 feet in my backyard has an SWR of 1.5 to 1 or less from 75 meters all the way to 200 mhz and thats transmitting and receiving on those frequencies! It's reception is totally amazing on the Air Band and FM Broadcast band too.

5. Another Lie Exposed - Almost all of the GOOD QUALITY expensive scanners, even handhelds are known as scanner receivers and they cover from 500KC to 1200 to 3000 mhz. !

6. Did you ever see another scanner antenna called a dipole? NO! Because Dipoles are all but worthless for VHF and UHF reception!

This same antenna configured as an Inverted Vee would work 100% better, but it seems that being a 500 watt CB bootlegger does not teach people much about scanner frequencies!

7. Remember folks, running a 500 watt illegal CB radio setup out of your home does not make one an expert on scanner antennas or anything else, and claiming -- I've been into radio for many years--- means as much as ---My dad knows all about Ham Radio because he has a CB---!
