According to the National Safety Council there are an average of 25,000 shopping cart accidents each year. My granddaughter was one of them. When she was little I turned my head and in a split second she stood up and fell out, hitting her head on the floor.Luckly she only busted her lip and I worried that maybe she had done damage to her brain. I was lucky because she was ok. When her brother was 5 months old, I designed the shopping cart safety seat and used it with him until he was 4 years old. It is light to carry, It folds into a bag that can be carried over your shoulder. The seat is an Inch thick, It has a wide belt that velcros in the back so the child cannot undo it and stand up. The seat is comfortable so the child tolerates shopping longer. Buggy Buddy can also be used as a comfortable sleeping pad when laid in the shopping cart. Studies have shown an abundance of bacteria on the shopping cart handles. The seat has an attached handle cover. I did not cover the whole handle because I wanted a place to put my hands so I would not transfer the germs and bacteria to the handle cover. The name of my seat is Buggy Buddy. It is washable. You can see it at OddNEnd
