I've shipped enough now on Ebay to learn the following (please read it all):
1) Figure in all of your time for shipping here's a example: PayPal & Ebay fees, cost for printing labels, shipping materials, ink, wear & tear on your car, tires, brakes, engine, etc. the time it takes to fight the traffic, GAS, boxes, bubble wrap, padded envelopes, tape, your time to pack the item, keep up with your receipt's and check it out it out it all adds it up so enough said...you know the rest.
2) Delivery Confirmation--I shipped a $5.65 item to a person and they left postive feedback and so did I. They emailed me almost 3 weeks later and said they NEVER RECEIVED the item!! Thank goodness I had the receipt and had to go through a dispute with Paypal and prove I had shipped it...the numbers on receipt is a life saver.
3) SHIP when you say you are!! Do not say you will ship the next day and wait 4 days to do it!! Be a responsible shipper and do what you say in your auction!! I ship First Class Mail and the buyer gets there item in 3 or 4 days because the cost is not much different than Media Mail which takes 7 to 10 days and the buyer is happier!
4) On the postive side, I have had the honor to meet a lot of GREAT people on Ebay and to me it is worth the time but you have to make a small profit, just don't do it all in one day!
