I've shipped enough now on Ebay to learn the following (please read it all):
1) Figure in all of your time for shipping here's a example: PayPal transaction fees plus Ebay listing and final value fees, cost for printing labels, shipping materials, ink, wear & tear on your car, to the Post Office GAS, boxes, bubble wrap, padded envelopes, tape, your time to pack the item, check it out it out it all adds it up fast!
2) Delivery Confirmation (if you still ship this way)--I shipped a $5.65 item to a person and they left postive feedback and so did I. They emailed me almost 3 weeks later and said they NEVER RECEIVED the item!! Thank goodness I had the receipt and had to go through a dispute with Paypal and prove I had shipped it...the numbers on receipt is a life saver. Do yourself a favor and print your postage with PayPal it's a lot easier!
3) SHIP when you say you are!! Do not say you will ship the next day and wait 4 days to do it!! Be a responsible shipper and do what you say in your auction!! I ship First Class Mail and the buyer gets there item in 3 or 4 days because the cost is not much different than Media or Parcel Post Mail which takes 7 to 10 days and the buyer is happier if the weight is below 13oz.
4) On the postive side, I have had the honor to meet a lot of GREAT people on Ebay and to me it is worth the time but you have to make a small profit, just don't do it all in one day!
