Paypal now has included 'International' shipping prices - and they are a BUNDLE compared with actual rates you can pay if you KNOW what to do.

We use BOTH Paypal's shipping service as well as ENDICIA , COM as sometimes Paypal rates are much too high.

Here's an example: I usually ship items that are UNDER 1 pound. Most frequently my items are 1 to 2 ounces. If you are shipping from the US to ANY overseas location, Paypal's cheapest shipping method will cost OVER $5 for 1 oz. If you go to Endicia, Pitney Bowes, or even the US Postal Service, you can select Airmail Letter Post for small items (even small packages). A 1 ounce item shipped from the US to the UK is UNDER $1 for postage. That will save you OVER $4!!!

For US to US shipments, protect yourself from buyers that 'claim' they never got the item by ALWAYS using Delivery Confirmation. Yes, it will cost a little more, but how many sellers are charging actual postage cost for shipping? Keep the cost of your Delivery Confirmation LOW by always using 4 x 6 envelopes and stuff a few shipping 'peanuts' into the package. This makes the package 'over' 3/4", a REQUIREMENT of the US Postal Service for getting the $0.14 rate. YES, DELIVERY CONFIRMATION FOR $0.14 IF the package is over 3/4".

Worried about shipping overseas and getting burned because of the inability to 'track' the package without paying a bundle? First, the cheapest tracked rate I have found for small items under $100 in value is actually 'insured' rates. It costs about $8 at the Post Office to insure a small package. NOT certified or registered!! There is a big form to fill out, but it's just a few blocks to actually enter. The best insured rate I have found is at endicia . com .They will insure a package from the US to almost any overseas location for $1.50 for up to $50 in value. This is a bargain!!

Don't think the Paypal shipping service is the only way to create postage labels. Look around and also talk to your Postal Clerks. The nice ones have a wealth of knowledge that can SAVE YOU A BUNDLE on your 'bundles'.
