Watch out for sellers who add an incredible amount of shipping to your purchase. I learned from my mistake! I won a sweatshirt at auction and was interested in combining the shipment of said sweatshirt with a t-shirt this same person offered to me as a buy it now. I asked for a 'combined invoice' to save on shipping. The member (halloweentigers) said ebay would not "allow" him to combine the two items and that I would have to pay separately for each item. He wanted to charge me $22.00 to ship one sweatshirt and one t-shirt from Los Angeles to San Diego. Actual cost of shipping would be the one pound rate from the post office (what's that, about $4.10?). When I asked this person about his outrageous shipping fee, he said that ebay and paypal charge him a lot in fees and that he had to recoup the money he lost from his sales through charging more for shipping. He also wrote the "envelopes, tape, and gas to get to the post office are expensive". HELLOOO! You can get FREE express mail bags with adhesive already on them at the post office you have to go to to mail the package!  He also charged sales tax and when I asked him to provide his seller's permit from the state of California to be collecting sales tax, (this is the very first transaction on ebay that I was ever charged sales tax)  he got offended and canceled my purchase, left awful negative feedback and blocked me from bidding on his auctions in the future (like I would EVER buy from this man again? NOT!) I know in ebay, it's almost like 'buyer beware' so just BEWARE of the shipping the person is going to charge you and ADD it to what ever you are bidding and willing to pay for the item. Remember to factor in the cost of shipping and handling when you are figuring the "most you would want to pay for your item". I do think there are a lot of great sellers on ebay, and this horrible transaction is a first for me.  From now on, I will look at the TOTAL price I might be paying for an item at auction. The worst about this whole incident is that there are no repercussions for the sellers who over charge people on the shipping and handling fees.  Please learn from my experience.
