Be sure and verify the amount of shipping charges especially those outside the US. If the first page doesn't give the amount, or says "Free", do not assume that is accurate. Contact the seller prior to bidding/buying. I had an experience along those lines, when I was entering PayPal data, ($5.50 purchase) the shipping was $75 - a contact with the seller verified it was not an error. Through mutual agreement, I withdrew my bid. The seller is no longer a registered seller.
I followed the guidelines by contacting the seller but when I couldn't resolve it, I reported it to E-bay. This was done without being intimidating, rude, or offensive by all parties concerned.
