Beware of the shipping costs on the items you are bidding on. You may think you are getting a bargain, but then when you calculate the shipping cost you find you could have gotten a better item in a store for much less money. Example:
I was looking at guitar amplifiers. I found one that was almost what I wanted. I being a newcomer to guitar playing thought that a cheaper amp would be the way to go. The one I was looking at was only $.99 on buy it now. WOW! WHAT A BARGAIN!!!. The shipping was $99. Slam! The seller wasn't making money on the amp but on the shipping, obviously. I bought an amp elsewhere with the features I was looking for and a good name on the tag. It cost me $99 with the shipping and it is a great peice of equipment.
I did buy a guitar with the outrageous shipping ($49.99). I figured if the guitar was a good one, it was worth it. I had to send it back, the neck was bad. It cost me just $14.00 to send it back.
How do they justify such high shipping? People pay it. They lead customers to beleive they are getting a bargain with their low merchandise prices, when in fact they are still making huge profits on the shipping. If they were called on that fact they would be more reasonable..... Maybe.
