Do the shipping and Handling charges seem really high?
They might or might not be.....
Example: a ring or pair of earrings etc. $0.01 but shipping is $8.00 or more you are probably paying too much!
On a small type of item such as a piece of Jewelry or a bottle of perfume, etc..........
Keep in mind that the Seller has to package safely and efficiently. However, most sellers use a bubble wrap envelope or a small box. The Seller has to pay for the packaging supplies and a little bit of a Sellers time is included.
If you see 2 similar items that are small, actual shipping charges plus about $1.50 for the supplies and trip to the Post Office are reasonable charges.
A Seller does not alway have to make a trip to the Post Office if they have the Postal Service pick up the package.
A small item such as a ring or necklace including confirmation delivery should not exceed $3.00 or $4.00 , as a single item is only about 1 or 2 ounces to mail. If the item is a heavier weight please take into consideration this may weigh more than 1 or 2 ounces and shipping may cost a little more.
On combined shipping such as 2 jewelry items, if you have to pay $5.00 for the first item and $3.00 for the second item, you are probably paying too much because 2 small items can fit in the same package weighing only an ounce or 2 more.
Priority mail is also a bit of an extra charge, Overnight shipping rates are usually much higher because of the urgency to be delivered.
Any liquid or flammable or items which are perfume, cologne or oils etc. must be shipped standard or ground delivery for safety purposes. Keep in mind that these type of items weigh more, costing about $5 to $? to package and ship. Also they will take a little longer to arrive from the ground transportaion.
Be cautious when buying a small item and the shipping charges are inflated.
Have a Great eBay day!
