So how many times have you seen something you would really love to buy, then you stop and ask yourself - "But what do I do with it"?
In this guide I hope to help you answer that question.
You don't always have to use it the way it was originally intended. I have had many young Mothers buy a Sideboard or Small Dresser from me and say they are going to use it as a changing table! The height and flat surface are ideal and you get lot's of storage below in the drawers and cabinets.
Some of my retro-fitted Antique Radio Cabinets have gone on to serve as gorgeous, one of a kind dry sinks or storage cabinets for TV's and Electronic Equipment.
An old Sewing Cabinet can make a unique side or hall table.
Old Trunks can be used as window seats, coffee tables or hope chests.
A very popular thing to do these days is to use an old cabinet, commode or small dresser as a sink base in a master bath or powder room.
One of my favorite things to work with are old wooden boxes, bins or sewing drawers. These make wonderful catch-alls for mail, remotes, keys, etc. Or you can place tall chunky candles in them, small pots of flowers or recipe books. Depending on the size, some make adorable holders for recipe cards, cd's, magazines, vanity items, etc.
Even an obvious piece like a bedroom dresser can be retro-fitted to become a serving bar!
Always try to look beyond the obvious purpose and have fun with your vintage finds!
