The subjects of sex, drugs and music have long been viewed as an inter-related complex that forms and dictates outcomes of one's overall behavior. Each individual component in the complex is, in some way, often associated with the other two.
When one examines the basic human drives that are peculiar to all of us, the evidence for the relationship of these three components in the complex becomes more clear. The basic fact is that we all strive for personal achievements, fulfilled sex lives and overall feelings of euphoria. Sex, drugs and feelings of personal achievements and therefore the "high" that is associated with success seems to fill a basic need.
These three basic drives are indeed rooted in our very nature.
The behaviors expressed in our society today are indeed immersed in activities where sex, drugs and music play a significant role. Everywhere one looks, these areas of activities are reflected in our actions and are commonly accepted in the general population. The entertainment field is especially filled with such instances.
If one is driven by one component of the complex, the other two components follow. Human beings and their behaviors are really very predictable when examined in this light.
When a person feels the "high" of personal achievement, the tendency is to want to relax with a drug of some form and then engage in some form of sexual experience. There exists however, many associated problems that follow. Too much work, sex and drugs are equally dangerous!
The drive for personal fulfillment in life is rooted in our need to satisfy the self. This need is by nature selfish and linked to personal greed. In short, we want it all now and when we get it, we have a need and desire to "chill" and then comes the party....sex and drugs! Problem?
Once our goals are attained, we want more!
We are rarely satisfied with what we have.
That old nemesis GREED continues to drive us until we can no longer be driven. The associated negative outcomes that follow the desire for more albeit financial gain, sex and drugs...will wear us out and tear us down and eventually destroy us if we cannot control the drive. There are many cases down through history where these realities have been demonstrated.
Some cases of where the above-mentioned drives have destroyed individuals can be observed by reviewing the lives of Howard Hughes, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and a multitude of other individuals. All sectors of our society have had losses and the entertainment field has had enormous losses as we all know. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and the list goes on and on! Just this past week....Michael Jackson joined this list of casualties!
What happened in the lives of these individuals?
The answer is simply this...they were driven people and the fruits of their labors and resultant lifestyles destroyed them.
What a terrible outcome and loss for all of us!
Moderation in life is key! This is not to say that we shouldn't strive as hard as we can to become successful....but we must realize the negative pitfalls that can engulf us.
There is a high price to pay for low living!
