Seven for All Mankind Jeans & Denim
7 For All Mankind has been one of the leaders in the field of modern upscale jeans and associated fashion styles for women, men, and children. According to the company biography, 7 For All Mankind introduced premium fabrics from Japan and Italy to the U.S. jeans market back in 2000, and the brand's success took off from there. The company is also known for its back pocket styling, consisting of distinctive squiggle designs that change from year to year.
Like a number of other luxury jean brands, 7 For All Mankind has attracted its share of celebrity fans and fashion magazine raves. Those in the know often refer to these jeans as simply "Sevens," and they can be found all over the world. The company estimates, in fact, that it sold a quarter of a billion dollars worth of clothing in 2005 in 70 countries.
Although the company's offices are located in New York, the jeans themselves are processed and washed in Los Angeles, where they are carefully treated to simulate the effects of years of rugged wear. Rips, holes, and whiskers are part of the look. The results are jeans that can be sexy and sophisticated with a nice tight fit, or relaxed and casual with a rugged manly air.
7 For All Mankind doesn't sell just traditional denim jeans, though. Additional items of apparel sold include cropped pants, maternity jeans, corduroy pants, skirts, jackets, and clothing for kids. The company has also branched out to create men's and women's shirts that come in sumptuous fabrics like velvet, twill, and satin.
