Spots are small pressed metal shapes applied to belts, clothing and accessories for decorative purposes. Spots are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes including domes, pyramids, diamonds and even acrylic rhinestones. Spots are usually either solid brass or plated steel in nickle, black or brass. Sizing is by the distance between the back prongs, the length of the prongs can vary.

Always work on a sturdy surface using a rubber pad to protect cutting tools. It is possible to press the prongs through lighter fabrics but thicker material requires pre-punching slits with a lacing chisel or sharp pointed blade. Insert the spot through the slits and bend the prongs down in the back with a standard slot screwdriver. With practice and careful measuring, it is easy to set spots with professional results.
