Serta's Easy Sleep scale is based on a simple concept - everyone's body is different, and so are their sleeping preferences. We rated the different comfort levels on an easy five point scale so you can determine exactly where you lie. It starts with the firmest mattresses at level 1, and ends with the softest mattresses at level 5.

  This level is for anyone looking for a firm mattress with a softer top. If you are in this category, you enjoy a lot of support, but you require a little cushioning to be comfortable. Generally people who prefer firm mattresses don’t move around too much during sleep. This category features both air and innerspring mattresses, all with supportive sleep surfaces for maximum comfort.
