I see so many listings that people have put on eBay and they are not making a dime in Profit. You need to take into consideration everything that is involved in that item from listing it to shipping it. This guide is only about sellers with New Items that are selling with or without an eBay Store.
Here is my list of things that effect your Profit.
Your selling price of the item plus the shipping price is your total that you will receive from your customer.
Now you need to deduct all of the following to see if there is a Profit.
The cost to buy including the shipping.
EBay's fees to list and their final value fee.
PayPal's fee to receive payment.
The price of the packaging you are sending it in. You need to include Tape, Bubble, Peanuts, Boxes, Bags etc.
Your time to put that package together.
Shipping Fees USPS etc
The cost of the label if you print with PayPal. This includes plain paper or self stick. Make sure you add in the price of tape, to apply the label, if you are using plain paper. It also includes the cost of printing. I was going through one ink cartridge a month to print my labels. I switched to a Thermal Printer.
Are you going to the USPS and standing in line to pay for packages. That is a labor cost as well as a GAS cost.
Then there is eBay's Store fee if you have one.
So many things to think about that effect your bottom line. Have you made a Profit?
