Selling on Ebay is an art.  It truly is.  Like any art it takes time to brush on each color and learn the best way to highlite or diminish each area.  One thing I've always kept in mind is that the airline pilot doesn't wake up one morning, decide to fly planes, drive down to his local airport and take a plane full of people on a trip.  Of course not!  He has to learn alot along the way.  This type of analogy kept me hanging on to Ebay for a long time.  We started out selling cds that were produced in our studio.  It took awhile to get interested customers.  I'd post a listing with TOO MUCH BLAH BLAH BLAH and eventually learned that I was talking to myself.  I've learned that in my experience the listing should say what the item is and its benefits, but, should not be full of alot of fluff.  Nobody has time to read it all.  I'm not one to complain about spending money with Ebay.  If I were to run radio commercials they would cost money, put up a billboard...more money, t.v. ads...you get the idea.  Listings should cost money and in most cases I will not allow my company to get skimpy on listings.  Our average listing costs about $6 in fact.  A person who is going to make a purchase needs to have an "experience" to do so.  A nice looking listing with several pictures is a great way to start the experience.  If you really want to invest in your business I encourage adding audio to your listing...this increases the experience for the buyer.  Let people want to buy from you.

Now let's discuss a growing phenomenon on Ebay.  Sellers who sell lower dollar items who want to have more Ebay success.  My belief system tells me that we all started with lower dollar items that's how we were able to learn what works and what doesn't.  Once you have some well proven methods might I suggest trying something of more value.  That's when I really began to see success on Ebay.  Too many people have the mentality that Ebay is a place where people shop price only.  Not true.  People are also looking for convenience and good service.  Ebay is an international billboard!  A way to tell the world about your product!  I promise you that a .99 cent widget takes as much time to list as a $5,000 vehicle.  If you are great at selling one...why won't you be good at the other.  It's all about doing what you say you'll do....providing what you say you provide and following through.  Do you do it with the widget?  Why won't you with the car?  "But the car costs $40 just to list!"  I can't tell you how many people I've watched spend $40 to try to sell one .99 widget!  List...no sale...relist...no sale...We've all heard people say "think outside the box".  Ebay is the place where you can take the box...break it down and set it on fire!  So why haven't you?!

We've become powersellers by moving up from the widget.  You can do it to!  Oh and when you do please e-mail this seller with a success story!
