I am a person who buys a new toy, plays with it, fixes it up, etc and then I get bored or see a NEW toy I just can't live without, so I sell it to buy the next one!
One thing I learned and would like to pass along. When I sell ANYTHING with a motor, I am HONEST as I can be. I list it in the PROPER catagory, so if it needs any noteable work, I list it in PARTS. If it is a runner and ready for the world, I list it as such, as a running item in the proper catagory.
However, mechanical things can break for no reason, or abuse/neglect by the new owner. ALWAYS list mechanical items with the clause "AS IS". It is a legal and binding statement to protect both the buyer and seller. If you bid with the clause in the listing, you the bidder are accepting the conditions of sale.
I have an open door policy and I respond to any and all emails, phone calls, etc to the very best of my ability and honestly.
I also state in addition to the "AS IS" that ALL SALES ARE FINAL PER EBAY RULES. If you bid and you win, you OWN the item. Winning does not allow to the option to come and look, then inspect and/or then change your mind.
If I made a terrible error in listing or I honestly missed something, then I will cancel the sale, otherwise, the bidder/winner is the owner.
EBAY is a great resource and a lot of fun to both buy and sell, but you have to be careful. READ EVERYTHING.
Good luck and happy eBaying to you and yours!
