Thank you for reading my first guide!
1) The first rule of selling media disks (DVDs, CDs, video games) is: if it doesn't work, don't sell it. Seriously, if it doesn't play on your equipment, why would anyone else want it? Your eBay reputation is at stake here and one lousy disk can ruin a perfect feedback score. If it doesn't work, or if it skips, don't list it! (and don't sell phony pirate disks either!)
2) If it has scratches but it still works, make sure you say that in your description. Some people may not care about the scratches as long as it works, but they may feel that you were deceptive if you didn't include that in your description and they will leave negative feedback.
3) Make sure to include whether it is WIDESCREEN of FULLSCREEN in your description. Many people only want widescreen DVDs and will not even bid if they are unsure about the aspect ratio.
4) I like to go ahead and take a picture of my item even though eBay offers a standard pre-made image. This lets people know that you have the item on-hand, and they can see the condition of it. Many people will not bid unless they actually see the item.
5) This is the best tip I can give: whenever you ship a media disk, take a 1 inch piece of clear tape and TAPE THE DISK TO THE SPINDLE! This will keep the disk from falling off the spindle and getting scratched during shipping. This can save your entire transaction! If the disk shows up and has fallen off the spindle and is all scratched, watch out for negative feedback. My customers really appreciate this little extra step and so will yours.
Thanks for reading! If this helps one person out there....I still won't get back the 20 minutes it took to write this! ; )
