Hello:
If you're trying to market quilts, perhaps I can help. My wife is a master quilter; I've sold several for her and several for her quilting group as charity auctions.
First, don't fret about "size" ... over-, under-, or whatever. Just post the actual dimensions . . . your market will find itself.
Second, provide details in your text description: type and age of fabrics used (both top pattern and backing, what kind of batting, and what threads used). A word on the quilt's provenance also helps: antique? "vintage"? inherited? modern? hand or machine quilted? group (quilting bee) or individual product? locality of origin?
Finally your photography must be first class. I recommend outdoor display in natural light with attractive background. Use the "macro" setting for detail -- you'll want to show close ups of the top fabrics and patterns, regularity of stitches (which shows expertise), and label if any.
The quilt market is a bit peculiar: what sells best currently are antiques, Amish, and miniatures. But there's a continuing market for attractive American- or Canadian-made quilts. (Note: Please don't try to peddle any foreign knock-offs. The Smithsonian in Washington DC sold off many of its quilt pattern files -- including the Baltimore Albums -- to the Chinese . . . which then flooded our country with inferiors made by child-labor. Truly disgraceful!)
Good Luck!
