This guide is meant to inform the general public about buying magazine subscriptions and selling magazine subscriptions.

First, let me start with information about buying magazines.  When purchasing magazine subscriptions, the first important thing to remember is that there are NEVER any shipping and handling charges.  These are just ploys for sellers of these subscriptions to make a little extra money without having to payout to eBay a lot more on fees.  Don't ever fall for the automatic renewal schemes.  If someone is advertising they will automatically charge your card and renew it for you, they are counting on you forgetting about it later on and getting that guaranteed money.

Also, remember that all magazine subscriptions take anywhere from 6-12 weeks to begin.  Once the publisher gets the order, they have to process the order, and get your order into the print queue.  Often all the printed magazines for a given week or month are already allotted for and you may not get the most recently published magazine for your subscription.

Between the clearinghouses and the publishers, there can be many variables that affect how soon you'll actually get that first issue.    Also to consider is how often the magazine is actually printed/delivered.  Is it a weekly title, or monthly?  Maybe it's only printed 8 times a year or per year or perhaps only quarterly.  All these factors may change the delivery time.

Many of the clearinghouses require the agents (sellers) to wait 10-12 weeks before they will even accept an inquiry about the subscription.  If you start asking your seller where your magazine is before 12 weeks, chances are slim that they'll be able to do anything about it.

If you are seriously looking for information on SOURCES to get started in selling magazines, just do a google search.  Some reputable companies that I have worked through, just check my feedback, are easily found this way.  Stop paying people for information that is publicly available.  It is true that you can get subscriptions for pennies on the dollar.  But when it comes to selling these subscriptions, be advised that every publisher sets a minimum subscription rate that us agents are required to sell at and NOT ANY LOWER than these prices.  Not one company authorizes selling on eBay because of the illegal rates people are selling them for.  All agents, when audited and if they are being truthful, will have their access to these rates revoked.  Why?  Because these set rates are what even the major magazine subscription websites, such as relatica.biz and magazines.com are required to go by.  People are undercutting them illegally.  There is a lot of money to be made in this business so stop supporting UNAUTHORIZED AGENTS that are selling at UNAUTHORIZED RATES.
