Selling on Ebay can be made alot easier by accurately representing the item.  In my experience, I have tried photography, which works fine for large and multi dimentional items like a trumpet, drum or Glass Figurine.  But when it comes to best representing paper items, Scanning is the best.  A simple scan of your postcard, Magazine,Sheet Music or any flat item, will give the buy a great view of the item.  The color is accurate, and allows the buyer to visualize the small details that can be missed with even the best photography.
