This guide is for those Soda Pop Bottle sellers new to eBay or those who might be able to improve on what they do. There are several ways you can increase your Bottles selling exposure.
- Be sure to state the town or city embossed on your bottle. A picture of this is always good.
- In your listing if your bottle is from a small town, tell what other towns or larger cities are nearby. People list bottles all the time on eBay and don't mention the city embossed. How can someone find a collectable from there hometown like that? They usually don't! If you just list cities without any discription this could be considered as spam and may or may not fly. Towns once prosperous with soda pop companies, may be very small now with many residents or descendants over the years moving to larger towns or cities nearby. They will make up a lot of your potential buyers!
- State the glass makers mark if any and any symbols or numbers. Some makers marks include LGW, L-G, ROOT, BALL, 3 RIVERS*, DURAGLASS, G27, 3R*, a C in a Circle symbol, an O & Diamond symbol <O>, etc...
Many times there will be numbers with the marks that might depict the year the bottle was made. On your embossed Coca-Cola Coke bottles you will find the mark on the heel or on the pinch of the waist.
- State the color of your bottle, clear, aqua, turning purple, etc... Believe it or not there are some who will collect the same bottles if there different in color or made by different glass companies.
- State condition best you can. Look for any chips cracks, pings or dings! Hold up to the light & double check! The last thing you want to do is make a refund and relist your item.
- On embossed hobbleskirt Coke Bottles look for a patent date of 1915 or 1923 and be sure & state it in your listing if you have them.
Look out for 1923 reproductions because they are out there. They will have a 2 letter state mark with a ring circle connecting them.
Do not sell these reproductions as old as this may get you negative feedback quickly!
Just a short little guide hopefully you can benefit from.
