*Note to sellers - Ebay purchases are binding contracts. There are no "typos" and you can't change the price after purchase. You can't send a bid-retraction form (You can, but it's not ethical.) You need to catch any and ALL typos, misprints, mistakes, etc... BEFORE the purchase is made, and BEFORE anyone bids. If the listing is "Buy-It-Now," you need to catch that right away. Ebay backs all buyers on this, because it is a selling violation to try to cancel a purchase, or change a price after purchase because of a mistake on the listing. I recently had a transaction go through like this, and you can view it on my feedback. Sellers, I personally don't care if there was a typo. Ebay purchases are binding contracts, if that's the price I purchased it for, that's the price I'm paying, and I'm sure there are others out there who feel the same.
*Note to buyers - ALWAYS READ THE SELLER'S FEEDBACK COMMENTS!!! If someone has left negative feedback for any reason, then you might want to review more before you buy. Don't choose not to buy just because one comment says "Wouldn't recommend, worst seller evar!" That is just someone who needs to grow up. If it says "Paid for, Item not recieved, no refund," or "Seller sent me a damaged item, no exchange/refund from seller," then it's probably best to contact the seller and get the 411 on the situation before entering into a binding contract.
Ebay has great customer support. When you feel something of the such is happening to you, contact the Trust & Safety Team. Once a purchase is made, the seller can't back out unless you agree to it. You can save yourself a headache by contacting Ebay on the issue right away. Notify the seller before you do, and let them know Ebay purchases are binding contracts, and that you intend to follow through with the purchase for the amount shown at the time of purchase. *NOTE - this does not count on auctions with a reserve price. Reserve price MUST be met, or to seller's best discretion.
Second Chance Offers - If you are given a second chance offer, especially on eBay Motors, check with the seller, and review the product. Some sellers have multiples of the same product, and are not all in the same condition as the first, also, there are many Second Chance offer scams going around. Make sure it is from the SAME SELLER, and check the feedback again as well.
