Payment is made via Pay Pal and low and behold the buyer does not have a Confirmed Pay Pal shipping address. Oh my what to do? You have indicated in your auction (I Hope) that you will only ship to a Confirmed Pay Pal shipping address so what is a seller to do? Well, I usually check the customers profile to see how many positive feedbacks they have and how long they have been on eBay. Then I send out this all important email template to the buyer.

Here is some information about confirming your shipping address you

Fastest Way To Confirm Your Address - Add A Credit Card To Your PayPal Account

PayPal uses an Automated Verification System to verify credit card billing addresses that are entered in the system. An address is confirmed if it is associated with a credit card or can be independently verified by PayPal. Gift recipient addresses and addresses associated with a Switch/Maestro or Solo debit card cannot be confirmed. Currently, our system cannot verify most non-U.S. credit card billing addresses.

These types of security measures are unfortunately necessary in an online environment where it is difficult to check someone's identity. In the physical world, sellers can check someone's credit card and driver's license. In the online world, where simple and effective identification tools do not yet exist, we have to take different precautions. We believe that these safety precautions are in the interest of all our members.

Other Methods to Confirm A Shipping Address

An address can become confirmed for U.S. accounts in two other ways:

1. Once you apply for PayPal Buyer Credit and are approved, the address used on your application will be confirmed on your PayPal Account.

2. You may confirm your address through Alternative Address Confirmation (AAC).

To qualify for AAC, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a Verified U.S. PayPal member in good standing

2. Have been a PayPal member for more than 90 days

3. Have a Community Participation buyer number more than 10 (this is your feedback rating)

If you qualify for AAC, you will need to fax several documents to PayPal, after which we will mail a secret code to the address you are trying to Confirm. After you enter the secret code correctly into the PayPal website, your address will become Confirmed. For more information, please see our User Agreement.

Important Note About Why I Will Only Ship A Pay Pal Customer With A Confirmed Addresses

I will no longer ship to an Unconfirmed mailing address, because of the high amount of identity theft and fraud on eBay. It is easy for a buyer to do and only takes a moment.

You can do your part to help us make eBay a safer environment and prevent identity and credit card theft. Please go now and Confirm Your Shipping Address if you haven't done so already. Pay Pal offers the seller a free fraud protection program, but it only applies to those sales made and shipped to a confirmed address. If I ship to an Unconfirmed Address I am ineligible for this protection and will be liable for loss, if it proves to be a fraudulent transaction.

If you choose not to confirm your address on Pay Pal, or you don't have a credit cart to confirm your address immediately, Pay Pal can still Confirm your address through your bank account, but this takes a few days to do so. If you have a good feedback record and have been on ebay a few months and want to fax me two utility or credit card statements with your name and address on it (credit card, phone, electric, etc.) I will accept it as proof of your current address. Please fax it to me at: 503 xxx-xxxx

If you can't or still won't confirm your address, I must refund your payment and ask that you send a bank check or money order for your win or purchase. If there is still a problem, please let me know immediately.

===================================================================

Thank you for the order, I appreciate your business and look forward to shipping your item as soon as you can Confirm your shipping address or advise me why it is not confirmed. If you have a very positive eBay profile we still may be able to ship this item to you.

Sincerely,

Len Rapoport
