As I am a seller on eBay for over a year with many different eBay user accounts, I have experienced a lot from it. Here is what I think an ordinary seller should do in order to get the buyers attention. As I do currently sell some of the things left over from my home, which are PDA and Pocket PC software and things similar to that. As I usually at nights come home, and sit down on my computer, I go on to eBay and browse through random categories and see whats up for sale. When I am about to place a bid, or buy something, I usually have a partial fear, that what happens if the item is defective, or broken, or if I am not sure of what it is, or if I really need it things like that. At the same time, when I buy something, or have won a bid on an item that I bought from eBay, you would usually get a feeling of happiness and joy. The subject that I ma trying to express here is that, sellers should be more detailed of what they are selling. For example, I see a lot of Power Sellers and all these sellers that have acquired a bunch of feedbacks. I usually see that most sellers, I would say about 60 percent of them would have Stock Photo's instead of a photo that they would take their time to take and put it on their page to show off their item, to give the viewer or buyer a more feeling of confidence, and the buyer would know what he or she is buying and they would not worry as long as the seller has Most positive feedbacks, a nice written description of an item he or she is selling and a nice price to go along with it. Also, another thing I see most of the time that seller's are doing, is that their description, is just an ordinary Times Roman font with a couple of sentences describing their item, and they sometimes don't even have a sentence saying, contact me if you have any questions or give me a call or anything like that. Sometimes, we have people who just randomly go on eBay, and they know what they need to find on eBay, and they are just browsing through items that they need, for example if you the person needs a new hard drive for his computer, he would find a nice deal, then when he clicks on the item, and reads the description and he or she would be having all these things going through their minds, like what if this guy accidentally sends me the wrong order, or if he does not offer shippers insurance and if the item is damaged then what, all these things going through the viewers head. I would recommend that you take your time taking a nice picture, of proof showing that you have this item that you are listing, showing them a picture of it, also writing a good not too short and not too long description that is very detailed with things that describe your item and stuff like that. That would give the viewer an extra feeling to buy this item from you. From then on, when a buyer purchases your item, I would usually give him a short notice, of me knowing that he bought this item from me, and it would be shipped at this time and thank you for your purchase, and things like that just to make that customer not worry about things that most buyers do when they buy something. I would also recommend for some people that can do things fast by printing shipping labels and organizing what item goes where and when it should be shipped and everything like that, if you can do that, then tell the buyer that you would ship their order as soon as they make the payment, unless the Post Office is closed or if you can’t make it there, then you would tell the buyer exactly what is happening just so they feel confident and that they would like your services. That is all I wanted to express in my opinion of a good seller.
