Sellers:

Make sure your money appears in your PayPal or Merchant account before you ship an item.  Some fraudulant buyers will send you a fake PayPal payment, convincing you to submit tracking information to the buyer before your money will be released. This is a scam and i hope no one has already fell for this. Paypal will never tell you to send your buyer tracking information before you can get your money.  BidPay scams are worse and most dangerous. Becarefull and again make sure you actually receive the money in your bank account before shipping. If you use PayPal, it is best to make sure that you only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses only. The reason for this is because if anything goes wrong, PayPal will back you up, because you shipped to the confirmed address. If you ship to an unconfirmed address, then you are on your own if the buyer decides to file disputes on items not being received.

Its really easy to identify fraud on ebay. If your buyer ask you to ship to a country you dont ship to, then its fraud. Beware of Nigerians that attempt to trick you into shipping internationally by offering to pay more for the item. This is a scam and they will also send you a fake PayPal Payment.  The best ways to weed out some of this fraudulant buyers is by setting up your buyer requrements. This can be done in ebay, by loging into your account, and going to "preferences" then select "buyer requirements" .  You can weed out almost all of them by making PayPal a requirement in all your listings or by blocking buyers with unpaid item strikes!

I hope this has been helpfull to all you upcoming ebay sellers out there. Oh and one more thing, please dont believe any ad you see on TV or the Internet that guarantees that it will teach you how to sell on ebay. Most of these people are just looking for quick cash.  The key to succes on ebay is like any other job out there.... HARD WORK!! Provide good customer support, ship items on time, and stay as honest as possible on your listings.

Buyers:

Theres not much to say here, but i feel like giving some insigts. If your seller has 1 to 2 Feedbacks, its best to becarefull. I will strongly recommend that you read the feedbacks and check out the items that were sold as well. Not all sellers are bad, even the ones with 0 feedback. If a seller has 0 feedback, it only means that he or she is a new seller. The best way to make sure the seller is legit is by checking to see how long he or she has been an ebay member. I wont recommend buying from a seller that has only been an ebay member for 1 or 2 weeks!  Also make sure the seller accepts PayPal, because it is a secure payment. If the seller accepts paypal, it means he is paypal verified.
