In the last 3 months I have encountered sellers that have ended auctions early because of a local sale. This action defeats the true spirit of Ebay. Sellers are using this strategy are unethical. They are no different than dead beat bidders. If bids on an item doesnt meet there expectations, they pull the item at the last minute on the grounds of local sale. And all is fine. There is no recourse for this type of action.
The "HIGHER POWERS" that make the rules for Ebay should eliminate this practice.
From this point forward I refuse to bid on any item with the disclaimer " I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY BECAUSE OF LOCAL SALE". I urge my fellow ebayers to do the same.
Furthermore, I'm inclined to question any seller that uses this practice. This is a loophole should be closed and closed rapidly.
If you feel the same express your feeling through guides and review.
A note to sellers ( if you are not willing to risk "taking what you get" set a reserve)
Lastly, I find it particularly disparaging when I find the item up for auction again.
