I got a realistic email (see my blog) saying that for the sale and prompt payment...but my PayPal account has been compromised.
Naturally they wanted to use a different e-mail and off-ebay payment ....like Western Union.
They had the seller ID, my ID and MY email address.
That is a bad system snafu and weakness on Ebay's part.
Don't fall for this scam.
Items of note:
seller e-mail did not match PayPal verified e-mail.
bad grammar
INTERNET SEARCH of email address showed western union with the alleged sender's email account...and Chinese? writing.
did not list item..
not listed in my ebay messages as being sent by the seller to me.
The Chinese hackers may be at it again...
"I'm the seller of the item you have recently bided through the eBay system.
I have to congratulate you for your winning bid. Regretfully, immediately after the listing closed I got an email form PayPal
and I must advise you that my account has been compromised immediately and my account is locked.
So please reply me asap so i can give you a full refund or we can do this another way."
