When talking to people about selling on Ebay the most prominent reason for not selling is: "What do I sell?". When my family and I decided to sell on Ebay we had the same question as new to the whole retail industry.

With nothing to sell you have no business and no money to make, so this important issue for the heart of your business will be adressed below.

1. Do you have a talent or hobby of any type? This could be acting,modeling,crocheting,making arts and crafts,painting, and a million more. Use your knowledge to write a book on your recipes,special talent or getting into a business that is not easy, then sell the books. Use your hands that make your favorite treasure to make and sell them. Not crafty or talented? There are plenty of books and classes on how to make anything from furniture to socks. My wife had me make into prints her favorite photo I took when in San Destin Florida, then sell them here in our store when we had one. The options are endless and plentiful.

2. If you have ever shopped for yourself or bought a gift for somone else you have what it takes to sell.  Whatever you like, collect, and wish for you can turn around and sell. The same goes for what your friends,family, and co-workers like and even collect. Ever wear a new outfit, or get something for your home or office and get a compliment? You like it and so does someone else. It only takes one person to like what your selling to get that sale!  

3. Look around you to see what a lot of people are wearing and or using as an example to what you will sell. Go to the mall, supermarket,club, or just "downtown"and you will see people wearing jeans and using cell phones. Jeans and cell phones are 2 items you can sell !!

4. Okay I know there is still someone who is still lost to the whole world of what to sell.   Go to Ebay home page and click on any category.  Check out a few pages in that category. You will see what a bunch of other people and stores are offering for sale. Especially check out the items that have bids on them.  Sell what others are selling if your "retail" part of your brain is still drawing blanks.

5.Sell items people use, purses and wallets and clothes and shoes are what people need and want and wear out, and have to buy more of during their life. Kids love toys all year so sell toys.

6.Need a place to buy cheap and resell for more? Check out all your local flea markets and garage sales. My wife bought a genuine Swarovski crystal swan for 2.00, and resold it for a lot more here on Ebay, and still sold a lot cheaper than buying in a store retail new so buyer still got a good deal too.
