In looking for a quality quilted bag, I came across several brands which after checking the fabric, stitching, zippers,pockets,etc, I found that they are all pretty much the same. The main differences would be colors, pattern, and styles.  The name brand is also a factor in the price you will pay for a quilted bag. Based on price, Vera Bradley seems to be at the highest end, MaggiB, Country Provencial, and Americana by Sharif are all about the same or close in price. Some of the bags have baseboards in them which are great for books and other items you would want to have a solid bottom. The baseboards are usually removable and it is a good idea to remove them before washing. 

For anyone who has sore shoulders or cannot carry the traditional leather handbag, this is a great option to consider. With so many colors and styles to choose from, it will be up to you to determine the perfect bag for the type of use it will be purchased for. If you are looking for something that is stylish, lightweight, and comfortable - then a quilted bag is perfect for you.

For Moms or Child care individuals- consider the color when deciding on a quilted bag, because like anything made of fabric, it can get dirty, so choosing a bag which can hide dirt might be a consideration if the bag you are looking for is to be used as a diaper bag, or a travel bag. A quilted bag is also a great Yoga Bag or Gym Bag, because once again, you can wash it and get rid of any odors or stains. 

One of the great features of a quilted bag is that you can fold it down almost flat, so it is a great backup or extra bag when you are travelling and have bought a little too much to fit in your suitcase. The weekender or duffel is a great bag to take to the beach, because after you are done, you can just toss it in the washing machine along with towels.
