I used to make fun of my Mom when I was a teenager and used coupons.  Now she making fun of me (really more amazed than anything)   I have become known in my circle of friends as the coupon queen.  I am a single person that makes decent money but now this coupon thing is just so much fun!!  I get BAGS of  name-brand supplies at a FRACTION of the cost.  Most of the times IF I spend $20.00 that's something.  Companies are always coming out with new products they want you to try.  With that, comes Sunday papers coupons.  I buy at the minimium two different newspapers. Different areas put out different coupons and values. Some brands I have to admit, I am loyal to but most times.....if don't have a coupon, I don't buy. If there's a product I really like, I email the manufacturer and asking for offer sample or coupons - most comply. For example Turkey Hill sends me a really nice calendar every year now since my inquiry on their Diet Green Tea with pullout sections of yearly coupons!

I love the B1G1 Free deals.  Here's a secret, you can use two coupons even if it's B1G1 Free at MOST stores.  Last week, I paid .99  for (2) Maybelline XXL Waterproof Mascara; a savings of $13.00!-I gave the other to a friend.  First it was B1G1 Free (6.99 each) then I had frequent shopper coupon from the store for $2.00.  $4.99 for two good deal right?  But wait, I had two MANUFACTURERS coupons for $2.00 off each, now bringing my bill down to $ .99 (+ tax sometimes that's more than the product!). One drugstore paid me (well not really because I bought other things) but gave me a couple cents "credit" for purchasing Softsoap Body Wash. Some stores if the coupons is more than the item you just receive it free.  I have even used coupons in "discounted" grocery stores.  I just ask.  All they can do is say no.

Most times the food coupons are for processed and unhealthy things; I pick and chose those carefully. My recommendation is soaps, shampoos, lotions, shavers.  It's good when I get the "credit" so to speak then that goes towards my fruits and veggies.  Also don't be afraid to use coupons on markdown items.  Listerine Whitening with a bonus bottle marked down to $3.82.  I had a manufactures coupon for $1.50 off, I  paid $2.52 for two! As long as you are purchasing the product indicated even if there is free stuff attached, I have been given the discount.

In the beginning it takes some time till you build up your supply coupons.  I never throw any out.  I cut the ones I will use, give key ones to friends and keep the "rest" in a bag in my car for the just in case time where you might find a good deal. I spend on average now about 1-1.5 hrs a week now on this and looking at the sale ads.  Not long at all.  Guess I just have a photographic memory.

Gotta run, its Sunday and the papers are calling me.  Hope my advise will help you.  Happy clipping and saving.
