As a seller and buyer I love the second chance offer feature. I think it is a great idea.
As a seller, I always offer Second chance offers to my customers, you won't beleive how much sales this generates. I just set the starting price at the lowest price I am willing to sell for and put the item up for auction. If an item sells for more then the starting price I immediately offer all the non winning bidders a second chance to buy at the price they originally bid on. I have had times that I sold over 5 items with second chance offers with only 1 listing. This saves a ton of listing fees!
As a buyer, I always accept second chance offers to me. I bid what I am willing to pay for, if I don't win and get a second chance offer, its purely my gain.
Sounds great hah? Well the problem is tons of Email scams regarding the second chance offer. I personally don't want to reject an offer just because I am afraid of scams. So, I give you the solution: Any legitimate Second Chance Offer will come through your My Messages in your eBay account. Always check eBay before responding to a Second Chance Offer.
