Deciding which riflescopes to use can be a very (fustrated) task. With all the options to choose from and companies its impossible to know exactly what scopes will work best for you. Most hunters and Us too have normally bought scopes based on past experiences and from what other hunters have told people what worked for them. However ALL HUNTERS are not the same. Each rifle scope should be chosen for the specific purpose the Hunter wishes to use the scope for.
We recommend that you get the serial # first and check the number with the companies Customer Service Department to verify that it is not a black market or copycat item from a non retail seller if your not familiar with the SCOPES purchased or going to purchase off of Ebay.
The size of the firearms and what the Hunter prefers to use it for does matter from past experiences on choosing the best correct scope that would perform to the expectations.
Several things you need to keep in mind when looking for rifle scopes that best suit your needs. Knowing these issues will help you in making dicisions what rifle scopes fits your demands.
Eye relief ---- Measured distances the hunter is able to view entire image through rifle scope.
Length --- How long the scope actually is.
Field of View ---- Measurable distances viewable at specific points through the scope.
Weight ---- How much the scope weighs.
Tube Diameter ---- Measurement of the main tube of the scope
Objective diameter --- Measures usually in millimeters, the objective of the scopes measure 32mm to 50mm.
Brand ---- Company that manufactures the scopes, This does make a difference when it comes to the quality of the lenses used and image quality to be expected Simmons, Burris, NcStar, Nikon, Leupold, Bushnell.
Parallax Adjustable/ Adjustable Objective --- Parallax adjustments allow you to focus on objects at a distance greater than 100 yards. Parallax adjustments are usually on the scopes. Some newer scopes have a side focus feature that is much more practical now.
Brand is probably the most factor in optics. It is true some brands make junk scopes. It is disappointing in the optics dicision making that you typically get what pay for, but there are some exceptions, Simmons, Leupold, Burris, Nikon, Bushnell all have scopes that fit your needs but you do need to look at these in person to get an idea.
It is best to look at the scopes carefully and look through them, see what attracts you to the scope and how it feels to you. Once you have decided what scope you want then determine if it will work on your firearm or rifle to your expectations.
Every hunting situation is different and you need to decide what situation you will most be likely to encounter and how different your hunt is going to be.
We hope we have helped you in purchasing a scope that will satisfy your hunting experience need for years to come.
