23 tips on search optimization and search engine ranking for you Ebay pages.
1. Keywords are the key to success. Include 2-3 keywords in your title.
2. Make a paragraph explaining your service on your homepage using your main keywords and put them in bold only once. You should use 3-6 keywords on your homepage.
3. Use anchor text and alt tags for links and pictures.
4. Use Froogle and use XML to put your products on Google Products. Use Ebay's exporting software at http://pages.ebay.com/help/specialtysites/exporting-your-listings.html
5. Participate in forums, blogs, and chat rooms that are relevant to the products you sell and put your Ebay store in your signature for forums.
6. Submit your Ebay Store and About Me page to free live directories using the FREE option (Reciprocal or paid links are not needed and search engines do not like it.) under the Shopping category and submit it to the relevant category. Change the title and description when you submit it to live directories once in a while so avoid spamming the search engines. Submit to only 10-50 free live directories a day because you want it to look natural to the search engines. If you submit 1000 free live directories in one day search engines will just find it as spam and block it.
7. Make a blog! Blogging is a great way to get more visitors. Try and make a new post once everyday or two posts a week. Make it constant. DO NOT make all these posts in one day. Search engines want people to take time to work on their pages. Google absolutely LOVES blogs because of the constantly new content.. Blogspot and Wordpress are the best in my opinion.
8. Wait! Your About Me page will not get indexed from 6 months to 1 year because they want you to make great content and to stop spamming.
9. Google AdSense. This is not a sure way to sell products. If you have the money you can do this and try it out. $5 a day and 25 cents per click is a good way to start out. I prefer organic search engine listing because it does not cost anything. By organic, I mean advertising your page the free way.
10. Write reviews for things like DVDs.
11. Use a drop shipper like Doba to do all the packaging and shipping for you and just copy and paste their information and use it to sell products on Ebay.
