Having Trouble Finding Scrubs that Fit Well?
In the 30+ years I've been involved in the uniform business, as both manufacturer and a retailer, the single biggest customer frustration I've witnessed is figuring out what size to buy. The sad but true fact is that there is no standardization; every manufacturer has its own sizing. One company's medium may fit you perfectly but a medium from another company may be too big, or too small.
One important thing to be aware of: drawstring waist and elastic waist scrubs are two very different animals.
- DRAWSTRING waist scrub sets usually (although not always) come with a single-pocket top, and usually (although not always) are in UNISEX sizing, which actually means MALE sizing.
- ELASTIC waist scrub sets usually (although not always) come with a top that has two pockets at the hem and are usually (although not always) sized for WOMEN.
Therefore, if you were to buy a medium drawstring set and a medium elastic set from the same scrub manufacturer, you would most likely find the drawstring set to be significantly bigger. You will also find that the inseam measurement on drawstring pants is usually about an inch longer than the inseam on elastic waist pants.
To avoid fit problems when buying on-line, measure your chest and your waist and look for listings that provide measurements.
I hope that helps!
