Transparencies are the latest rage in scrapbooking today. How do I use them?? Where do I put my picture? How can I adhere a transparency to a page layout? These are some of the questions that you might have about scrapbooking with transparencies.
Scrapbook transparencies come in just about any size you can think of. The standard sizes are 8x8, 8 1/2 x 11, and 12x12. I really enjoy working with the 8 1/2 x 11. This size gives you room when working on a 12x12 layout to add your own journaling and extra embellishments.
How do I use them?:
- 8 1/2 x 11 layouts. Place a 8 1/2 x 11 transparency on a piece of a 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, adhere your picture - and bam your done.
- 12x12 layouts. Once again if using a 12x12 transparency on a piece of 12x12 cardstock, adhere your picture and your done. Like I said above, I enjoy using a 8 1/2 x 11 transaprency of a 12x12 layout, so I can add my own personal touches.
- In a picture frame. 8 1/2 x 11 transparencies can usually be cut down and put into a 8x10 picture frame. These make wonderful personal gifts.
Where do I put my photo?
- Sometimes this can be tricky because alot of the transparencies on the market today have some much wording your pictures tend to become lost in the layout. I like working with transparencies that already have a photo box on the transparency. That way there is no question as to where do I put my photo.
- Photos can be placed either behind or on top of a transparency.
How do I to adhere a transparency to carstock?
- Mini glue dots. I prefer this method.
- Velum tape.
- Stickers.
- Machine Stitching.
